The Ideal Candidate
Master of Science in Accounting and Fundamental Analysis students are indistinguishable from Accounting PhD candidates in their intellectual ability and academic credentials. Nevertheless, these students differ from typical doctoral students on two key dimensions: they do not necessarily aspire to an academic career, and they do not wish to commit to a four to six-year course of study. Work experience, while not required, is highly desirable.
The typical student has an undergraduate business or economics background and will have completed basic financial accounting and managerial accounting courses. Students who do not have formal coursework in accounting are sometimes admitted, but that is fairly atypical.
