The Three-Year JD/MBA Program at Columbia Business School, in partnership with Columbia Law School, offers an unparalleled opportunity for students to earn both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration in an accelerated timeframe. This innovative program is designed for ambitious individuals seeking to develop a comprehensive skill set that bridges the worlds of law and business.
Graduates of the Three-Year JD/MBA Program emerge with a unique perspective and versatile expertise, ready to tackle complex challenges and make impactful decisions at the intersection of law and business. Program Timeline
| Year One | At the Law School, complete the first-year foundation curriculum requirements. |
| Year Two | Enroll at the Business School and complete the core curriculum requirements. You may begin taking electives at both schools. |
| Year Three | Enroll at the Law School, with the option to register for courses at both schools, including classes that are cross-listed by the Business School and the Law School. |

Interested in the Four-Year JD/MBA?
Applicants can also earn a JD from Columbia Law School and an MBA from Columbia Business School in just four consecutive years and accelerate your journey to professional success.
Unlike the Three-Year JD/MBA program, applications for admission to Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School must be filed separately. Each school’s admissions decisions are based solely on that school’s selection criteria and, accordingly, are determined independently.
You are eligible to apply to the Four-Year JD/MBA Program during your 1L or 2L year at the Law School, or during your first year at the Business School.
You are free to apply to both the Law School and the Business School simultaneously, however, this option requires you to spend the first year of the program at the Business School and defer matriculation to the Law School for one year, as the Business School does not allow deferred matriculation.
